Hoping to get a jump on Google and other competitors, Adobe Systems plans to release a hosted version of its popular Photoshop image-editing application within six months, the company's chief executive said Tuesday.Like Adobe Remix, the hosted Photoshop service is set to be free and marketed as an entry-level version of Adobe's more sophisticated image-editing tools, including Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. Chizen envisions revenue from the Photoshop service coming from online advertising.
The current offerings out there from other companies (like Snipshot, PXN8, Fauxto, etc.) aren't great. And I am guessing Adobe will be using Apollo for this, which is a really nice platform for RIA. Although it might still be as RAM/Processor intensive im guessing, and it would require a high speed internet connection which is very reliable. Within an organisation or business it would be better tor un the standalone version, and I cant see many people picking it up straight away. Adverts would be distracting, too!
