We have it booted and sorted out the BIOS. It's happy to boot from the HDD but then in the middle of start up windows falls over. Any ideas? It's also saying stuff like \" 6.0mb RAM\" which is false.....

I just read up on your topic @ IFSZ. You need to completely reformat Windows. All the old drivers will give you driver-conflict hell. ;)

Like Predator said, reformat.  It is the quickest and easiest way to solve your problems.

With such a major upgrade you are best off reformatting.

As I said on the IFSZ a fresh install is the surest route, followed by attempting to repair the install with the Windows CD.

Ok I tried to do a Windows repair, it told me to \"Choose what instaliation I should log onto\" and \"Enter a administrator password\" and stuff which I didn't have ever. if I re-install it completly will I lose all my files?

Administrator password would be the password of any admin account.  Also there should only be one installation to choose from.  And yes, if you completely reinstall you will lose all your data.

Ok well it works! Thanks alot. But half of my stuff is gone, and barely any of it works....which is odd. Anyway, everything is working and my computer has quadrupled. Thanks again!
