iPhone 1.1.1. Hacked: "Preliminary" Jailbreak Works from Wired
Quote:
After a weekend of busy work building on a vulnerability discovered last week, iPhone hackers have crafted a "preliminary" method of breaking an upgraded iPhone's lockdown.
The new jailbreak isn't particularly polished yet, however, so hold off on upgrading to 1.1.1. Handsets on which it has been executed do, however, run third-party applications (though they all need to be recompiled for the 1.1.1 firmware's new frameworks), though there is as yet no way to use it on alternative carriers.
This is all so exciting. It's like the PSP all over again!
