Firaxis has done all the right things to make Civilization IV a great game and a fresh, new experience. Just about every single problem from previous titles, especially the lackluster Civ III, has been adjusted or outright replaced. Whether it’s the endless city spamming, the lack of good multiplayer, or the AI cheating in obnoxious ways, it’s been addressed in Civilization IV.
Moreover, it’s a title that can and should appeal to anybody. With most games, even if they receive a high score there are always reservations for those who might not like the genre or setting. Not so with Civ4 – you quite simply cannot afford to miss it.
That's nice to know. I had heard from someone that Civ IV was basically Civ III with a little better graphics, so I wasn't going to get it. But, now I might.
