This is mainly due to shipping costs and RAM. Originally I was going to buy everything from Newegg, but it would have been around $60 in shipping. So I bought most of my components at ZipZoomFly which offers free 2nd day shipping on most products. eWiz also had free shipping on the Super Lanboy.
Did you try adding it to a cart? Usually, if you buy multiple things, the shipping will be less.
Nice system. That should keep you busy for a wile.
R U looking forward to the new Socket M2 CPU's from AMD? I hear they are going to have a full like of Septrons Socket M2 compatable jsut like the Athlon 64s.
Wow, this Corsair Value Select is very impressive. I wasn't even expecting it to get past 220MHz at 3-3-3-8. Right now these are running 242MHz @ 2.5-3-3-8 w/ 2.6v. I have been running Memtest86+ for about an hour now and there are still no errors. Next I'll move up to 2.7v and see how much higher I can get and keep doing this until 2.9v. Then I'll loosen the timings and create a nice little table and post it here. This way you guys can see what the RAM could do at each set of timings and each voltage.
It looks like I got very lucky with this RAM. I am very excited to how far it can go when loosening up the timings and using more voltage. 2.5-3-3 is the lowest it could do at stock speeds without getting errors on test #5 in Memtest. The RAM is UCCC so it does best at 3-4-4-8. It should be able to reach 260MHz with those timings, maybe even higher. We'll just wait and see. :D
