I'm just going to upgrade my PC, then it'll own all the consoles once again!
Come on Andurion-A gaming PC is a PC,and a Console is a Console and neither can own each other as they both have thier uses. Its been covered before,in great debates.
That Quote sounds like something out of kindergarden!
True; I'm not going to repeat myself again; just look through the Console vsPC to see my ideas about why people choose Consoles, and the Culture behind them.
This is about what Nexy Gen Console we think will do best... (See previous posts in this topic for more on my views on that! )
I have no real favourite at the moment. I currently have 360 which in my opinion are some great games, but I'm planning to buy a Wii when it comes out and maybe a PS3 when I have enough money for it.I mainly care more if the games are good right now and I really don't care about the Blue Ray stuff or how the console preforms because a pretty face isn't everything. I like how Nintendo is trying some very new and intriguing stuff and how microsoft and sony are planning on releasing some really really cool games(and no though I like Halo 3 thats not the only one). So, right at this moment I would vote for all 3 but I don't think it'll let me...we'll try anyway.
hmm I don't really have a opinion but I would probably say Playstation 3 as #1. and Nintendo as #2 Just because Sony makes a great console having played the PS1 AND PS2 for a short time. But Over all I would take a normal computer over all of them.
I'll go for the Revolution. I'm just havent seen anything worth getting yet on the PS3. Nintendo is launshing with Zelda. Thats all I need right there.
An Xbox 360 is nothing new; I have an uber PC for what that can do; but a Wii is really cheap, its cool, and fun, its new and innovative, and Im decided

Yep! But it can now also be a communal thing... imaging wielding the Wii Remote on.. Call of Duty 3, Driving with NFS Carbon, Zelda, Red Steel and Mario Smash Bros; and more!
I"m more interested in the Wii than any other console. Sure, it's console specs aren't up to snuff in comparison to the competiting consoles, but it does what I want it to. IMHO, the 360 and PS3 are nothing more than uber-tweaked videogame systems with additional features which I could easily do with my PC. Nintendo has kept me happy since the NES; Sony was okay with the PS1, then when I tried out the PS2, I didn't acquire much taste for it. The Xbox has too many adult like games (I'm 17, but I have weird tastes m'kay?). Gamecube has, yes, you might call them "kiddy games", but I obsess with anything from the Sonic franchise to Super Smash Bros. Melee. StarFox is good too. I know this is not a well defined review at the time, but yeah..I'm busy... o.o
No they won't, they raped their consumers to the 360 when they lied to them about the release date. A worldwide release is completely impractical. With the dog of a PSP and the PS3 fiasco, Microsoft and Nintendo may be the only two gaming companies left after this generation.

and the only thing holding Xbox up .
No, it may have a lack of EXCLUSIVE games, but the PS3 hardly stands out in it's online capabilities, and well we're not quite sure about Nintendo yet. I wouldn't buy a PS3 simply because the games worth playing are very few and far between.
The 360 has the upper hand in online, as it's service is easy to use, unlike the PS3's. And with the whole world going online, Microsoft are simply going to have the upper hand due to laziness. Not to mention the PS3's ridiculous price of $1000 without the High Def cable.
The games on it are generally crap, they have a lot of them, but mostly they are just pure crap. For every 1 good game there is for the PS2 there are 25 - 30 crap ones.

If you wish to argue, then by all means, argue, because I have many points to prove you wrong =P.
carnageX always gets... Im sorry to say "pwned"... He is one who is caught up with Sony's commercialism has classic "PS3" obsessive traits.
Your just echoing whats right konspakatak , we have all said it before (Just search carnageX's posts), but Im sure he will be back to speak his case! (somewhat flawed)
Well Guys in my opinion first I would say you can’t really compare the WII to the PS3 and XBOX-360, and the WII is a different console entirely, being its not deigned to beat up performance, and graphics, its not even there to look good on the floor while playing.
The WII is a family orientated Console, the games are deigned for friends and family to enjoy themselves together while playing on a computer Console, just like the Nitendo GameCube was, for games like Mario Party (which is a good laugh to play with the entire family and for all ages).
As for the competition between PS3 and XBOX I would have to vote for the PS3, being much a more demanding console in performance, and extreme stability the PS3 will win my vote.
But on the other Hand being as its Sony (Copyright Fiends)…..the XBOX will win my vote on Expansion Option and Modding, and the boys at Sony do not like there toys being altered (as am sure most of you know), but am not saying you can’t mod your PS3 just a lot harder to do so!
Why I want this: it's cheap, new controller, and virtual console (SNES and Sega Genisis on same system )
Games I want for it: Mario Galaxy, Metriod Prime 3, LOZ: TP, and of cource Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
What the downside of it?: it has the weakest graphics, but who care it's all about the gameplay.
Is it worth it?: Yes, cheap and has great games, you can't go wrong
Sony Playstation 3
Why I want this.. or not?: Great Graphic, Mulitmedia and it's an cheap Blue-ray player ($1,000 for those.) But I dont hink I personally want it!
What the downside of it?: Pricey ($500 to $600 Pricey), No Rumble in Gampad (Only an weak copy of Nintendo Wiimote combined with the Duelshock), and MGS4 not lauch title.
Is it worth it?: No.
X-Box 360
Why I want this: Cheaper than PS3 and great online play, good all rounder!
Games I want for it: Sonic the Hedgehog, Grand Theft Auto 4, Gears of War, and Halo 3.
What the downside of it?: You Need an fan by it, so it doesn't over heat (My Bros has one, and he has to do that, so it doen't over heat.) and no good games right now (except Call of Duty 2)
Is it worth it?: Yes, if you like Halo and want an cheap option
of great graphics. (for me, not right now, by bros has one. so I get one when I move out.)
Conclusion? The best conventional is Xbox 360...
It has good graphics, good all round... as Deadloss says, good moddability, it has good expandability, reasonable price compared to the PS3, and has Media Centre Compatibility, it is HD and all those expected bells and whistles.
I think its because the 360 is out; its playable; people know its awesomeness.
Also, another downside candidate for the PS3, the possible patent that doesn't allow you to play used, borrowed, or rented games; something that could (and would) destroy the console if it ever sees the light of day.
The PS3 is extremely expensive. Release Games are not that good, and they are also behind on UK release. There has not been much of a buzz in the US has there? And then the inevitable Sony power adaptor recall to come
The Wii is next generation, just like the N64 with 3D, it is innovative, and different but inevitably less popular, but it Wii lead the way... Yes, Gamecube was a mistake by Nintendo, but the N64 and the Wii was and won't be. It is classic Nintendo. Also, the Wii appeals to everyone, and not your average gamer. Maybe it will get not so good benchmark tests and score lower in hardware reviews etc, but it will certainly appeal to the family, and more people will get (not necessarily want) it for Christmas, as parents don't really care about the difference and will buy them the cheapest and most economic (games are cheaper) console.
The PS3? No.

extreme stability the PS3 will win my vote.
Sony... Failed products, having features taken out not added (rumble, preowened games etc), exploding batteries, recalls, and the flawed bluray..
Blu Ray still optical storage, its a degradable, non-archival, breakable, scratchable, mistakable-for-a-frisbee, easily destroyed storage medium... I mean, 50GB of data you can snap in half?
I think the future is solid state or Flash storage; think how much you can store on a tiny SD or CF card, with no moving parts, almost impossible to destroy, resistant to shack and even water, RAID Drives can store GB's of data, and it cant be snapped.
Enough Said! Xbox 360 Great Conventional console, great Games. Wii, innovative and has a good change of being successfull like the N64 or DS. PS3? Your fan boys will stay loyal... and kids will want it, and I mean.. kids (age 10-12 more so with heir NFS and GTA lol)...

They are all video game consoles, that way they are comparable. But how does the Wii's controller make it somewhat incomparable to anything. Guess what? IT DOESN'T. Nintendo is in the same arena as the PS3 and 360 and regardless of whether it was designed for performance or not, it's still got better performance than anything of the last generation.

Seriously. How does this add to your argument? It doesn't, marketing for a series of age groups instead of one just shows a clever marketing strategy, not that it's incomparable to other consoles.

Much more demanding, yet it demands $6000 to get it. The price of a premium console. Plus the High-Def cable. Plus your High-Def TV. That's of course assuming you haven't got one. If you are tell me and I'll break into your home next weekend. Besides that, see my post above.

Include online on the XBox win section. And we all know Sony suck for everything. Look at everything they've done regarding the PS3 AND the PSP.
